Cingular-Mexico

I was looking at the Cingular website and read that you have to call in to have intrenational service activated. Something that caught my attention was that "Your payment history and the length of time you've been a customer with Cingular are factors which determine your eligibility for this service"

Can anyone who works for Cingular explain this? We have had service for 2 years, and are sometimes late b/c of the time it takes my company to reimburse me. Does that mean they will say NO? Also, I am opening a new account in my name this week (our current account is in wifes name)and wnated to know if they would say no to intrenational service for a trip to Cabo in 7 weeks. Thanks!

More than likely you will get it added, typically what they require is timely bill payments, and a 6 month tenure with the company. So it should not be a problem.

In my market, you have to make 3 successful bill payments.

I don't work for Cingular. FWIW, I had no trouble adding service to and from Canada for a trip there.

If you are going to be in Canada or Mexico for any length of time or expect to make and receive more than a few calls, you might consider buying a prepaid SIM in Mexico. I've heard they are readily available. The link is a place to begin looking
