Is Cingular going to answer to VZW's 3G network?
With 3G broadband being such a hot thing nowadays, it seems like the number one carrier either has a wonderful surprise for all of us, or that VZW has such a lead on Cingular, there is no way to catch up for several years.
Does anyone know when broadband speeds are coming to new Cingular handsets?

verizon does not have such a lead on cingular, they are just now getting some decent speeds on their data network, which the coverage suxz any ways....umts... right around the corner...

Duh Ev-Do is quicker than Dsl so the speed is more than decent. As far as coverage our data coverage looks just as good as T-Mobile's entire network

UMTS is deployed in several markets, and HSDPA has begun deployment. They aren't pushing it yet because it isn't deployed enough to provide seamless speeds over the network yet... wait til dec/jan. you'll see phones being released like crazy that will work on HSDPA.

duh open your eyes people cingular is far behind verizon.. Verizon has already deployed high speed data to a lot of major markets cingular has not. Not to mention verizon's service is a hundred times more reliable.

😡 what the **** are u talking about?!!! cingular is light years ahead of vzw. we have umts (wcdma) that due to an agreement with ntt do co mo with at&t has to rolled out and be fianlized by the end of 2005!!!!!!!!!!!!! hince the LIVE TV !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we now can watch from our phones anywhere on cingular's network and ptt that will be beter than and faster than nextels rolling out ALL OVER!!! on oct 18 or 19, 2005.

Whoever told you that Cingular is light years ahead of Verizon on data is on crack. Where do you hear these things?
I love Cingular and all but the truth of the matter is that they only have 6 UMTS markets and 1 HSDPA market deployed. Verizon's high speed EVDO network already is in 60+ markets and covers over half of the US population. Cingular is expected to rollout their HSDPA network on a wide scale by the end of the year, but up to now, they aren't even ahead of Sprint when it comes to high speed networks.

🤣 EXCUSE ME!! 60+ markets? mor like 20-30 if that. verizons enhanced services map looks as if it doesngt even cover 60= markets. as far as i understand its 15 markets they have covered right now. i love VERIZON and all but the truth of the matter the old stale ass phones are boring. at least if your gonna have america's best TALK coverage network at least make me look good while im doing it. if it wasnt for the LG8100 vzw would be done!!!!!!!!
