Boycott competitors' slams against Cingular

I am very satisfied with Cingular. I am not changing. I come to this forum to read what I need to know about my service and the new phones coming.

Its curious to me how every time we respond to a slam obviously posted in the Cingular forum AGAINST Cingular by an 'outsider/rival', it just puts the discussion to the top of the list. I am not going to defend anything from them because it just keeps this negativity going. If we ignore these negative messages they get no attention and die.

Its obvious to me many of these other agents (not from Cingular) are trying their best to steal customers here and I am not going to help keep their messages alive. JMHO

Wrong.

They dont care if you go to Verizon. They are just being jerks for the fun of being jerks, and if you look closely you will see that the Cingular reps are at least as guilty as the Verizon cats.

Dont sweat that crap, or you will be sweating for awhile.

You are right! 😁

Jerks are jerks, and I am not going to waste my time reading their crap. I guess they aren't too awful busy if they have the kind of time they are wasting on this Cingular forum. Might be because they aren't selling very many phones or service. HA! 🙂

Or... maybe they don't work for a wireless company and have time to kill at 6pm on a friday cuz things are slow at work

You are correct on that one too! They are probably just trying to stir up trouble and see how they can get people riled.... And they are probably getting paid to do it, unless they work on commission and aren't getting paid because they work on commission and don't have enough to do. 🙄

It sure seems like some non-Cingular folks think they can lure customers away by posting bogus or inflammatory posts here. Makes you question their ethics. Why would I trust what they have to say against a company anyway? Someone said that they weren't doing very much work where they are if they have time to post this kind of stuff against their competitor. How true, how true.

They must be very bored today at Verizon and T-mobile. They are all here slamming Cingular. How sad. They need to get a life! Cingular must make them very nervous for them to spend so much time here. 😁

Actually, I haven't seen a single "slam" posted againest cingular all day. Also, wasn't it you that said "agree, if we stop defending Cingular in the 'slam' posts, they die. This forum is to help each other with Cingular".

I do agree that there are pranksters out there, but I AM interested in legitimate complaints about ANY carrier and I will not dismiss outright all criticism as bogus. How is one to discriminate the honest versus the trash posts against a carrier?

What if there is an abrasive, tom-foolish person out there writing complaints about a carrier — and the complaints are legitimate? Just because a poster composes his thoughts badly or has a ton of spelling errors or uses the wrong register in this public forum does NOT mean that what s/he says is wrong and to be ignored. Truth tellers sometimes come w/ bad communication skills, and it is easy to dismiss their ineptitude, but if we do, we lose.

Conversely, what if there is a slick person out...

If a 'trash talk poster' is all over the site continually trash talking against Cingular and pushes XYZ carrier, it seems obvious to me they have their agenda. "XYZ is great at this and XYZ is great at that". The common user does not have the time or energy nor the motive to be on here day in and day out pushing XYZ.

And to repeat, the common user does not have the motive. So if you see the same individual again and again trash talking over a period of time, something tells me they have an agenda to trash talk against Cingular to sway customers to XYZ.

Who is this poster? Since he or she has posted publicly, then his or her posts are public domain and his name or handle is of equal public domain. Please name this individual so that i can disregard all comments emanating from him (or her). -Lorna

I don't think anyone wants to get into name calling here against any one specific poster. If you read enough posts on this forum there are several posters that this would apply to. You just have to pay attention to their aliases.

If it quacks like a duck, then it probably is! 😉
