Cingular Experience

Today I visited my brother at school to see about porting his phone onto my cingular plan.
I was prepared...I brought a section of an old bill that had the account #, brought the old phone, etc. So theoretically, everything should've gone smoothly...not so.

First she tried to tell me the MOTO v180 was a $100 phone (which it is not), so I kindly informed her that it was not so according to the Cingular webpage and other retail stores. Then when her manager agreed to drop the price, it took the saleslady about 5 min to type in my info right. When she tried to port the number, she tried to type in the old acct # as the phone # that I wanted to be ported. Then she couldn't port the phone and told me that my acct was blocked most likely beca...

Cingular store in champaign, il: "sorry we can't port this # - your current carrier is not allowing us"

Cingular store in schaumburg, il: "sure we can port this #"....15 min later..."here you go"
