Cingular. Sprint has decent coverage but there are many, many spotty areas and wherever you do have "good" coverage the call quality is either subpar or you're dropping calls. Cingular and Verizon are the two companies with the best service and coverage in most of the Northeast, in my experience.

If you could give a more specific location (or locations) as to where you'll be using your phone most, I'm sure somebody can give you a better idea of what your service will be like.

Also, with Cingular's 30-day buyer's remorse period, you can try out Cingular's service where you'll need it most and decide whether Cingular is going to work for you.

Def. hop on with sprint i'm in northern ohio (akron) and sprint is awesome. I've been all over the u.s and it has never let me down. Plus, new company with momentum, and they have awesome 3g path with spectrum ahead of them. Only bad thing is if your on a call and your sprint turns to roaming, it WILL drop your call.

But cingular is well .... cingular

Considering I have used them both and I live in Pittsburgh, I kind of know. Yeah, Cingular is Cingular, and that's why I'm with them.

Sprint has nothing on Cingular or Verizon across Pennsylvania, south, or north.

Cingular. My sister has Sprint in that area and canNOT keep calls on her phone despite switching equipment several times. Her friend who lives near her has Cingular and has not had one problem. My sister is dropping Sprint and going to Cingular because of this.

I live in Pittsburgh and will tell you that Sprint IS NOT excellent. Like I said, nobody holds a candle to Cingular or Verizon's service in western PA.

You are right, Verizon and Cingular both have excellent coverage in and around Pittburgh.

Great Post 😁

I meant Pittsburgh.
I go there every weeeknd and there are plenty of towers that Sprint could have service on, but do not for some reason.

The Nextel merger may mean better service for Sprint in the future, but rumor has it, that may be years from now.

I don't know where you are talking about because I had Sprint twice within a 5 year period and they were HORRIBLE!!!! Verizon is the best in Pittsburgh followed VERY closely by Cingular. You can't go wrong in the Pittsburgh area with either Verizon or Cingular. But it would be the WRONG move to go with Sprint in Pittsburgh.
