Again, this site has been overridden with tools that do nothing but post opinions as if they are facts.

How about this for an idea - stop with the stupid pissing matches. if you have nothing useful to say, keep youre mouth shut. please. this is getting very tiresome wading through all the crap to find well thought out posts.

I like Cingular, I like their phones. The other 'not helpful stuff' gets really old and wastes alot of my time. Phonescoop will get to where people don't come here anymore if this hatefulness and deceitful posts don't get stopped. Why don't the moderators see this is happening?

It's up to the readers to report violations of the TOS. If we all take it seriously then posts are deleted VERY quickly.

If someone attacks you or another individual personally it violates TOS #2

If someone threatens another, it's TOS #3

Offering to sell something #6

Pyramid schemes #7

Cross post #10

The trouble with all the flaming is there's no specific TOS violation to address it. It might fall under #4 for defamatory content, but that's a stretch. If we all agreed to follow a new rule which is not to incite "flame wars", then maybe we could talk Rich into adding a new TOS clause.

Yeah I agree, honesty and freedom on a forum are a bad thing. I think we should all be of the same opinion and never disagree.

Manners matter too. You should never "try" to start up a flame war or bash something or someone even if you think you're right. Sure, you're entitled to an opinion, but you aren't entitled to force that opinion upon others. There are ways of sharing opinions in constructive manners which could possibly persuade people to your argument. Bashing does not do this.

It's illegal to incite people to riot or violence, and our courtesy should carry that onto flaming as well. I know we are all able to make rational decisions, so it shouldn't be hard for us apply that before hitting that submit button.

just points out how much a tool you are. i NEVER said anything about everyone agreeing, i said it would be nice to see posts with intelligent thoughts, not brain dead quotes like "cingular sucks cuz i say so"

because you THINK something sucks is different than pointing out REAL shortcomings of that same thing.

i think asparagus sucks, but some people would disagree. now if i said "i don't like asparagus becasue it makes my gas smell bad, and it causes me indigestion" then that is is opinion BACKED UP with a FACT as to why.

people here are saying Cingular ...

I agree. I'm tired of all the fanboys trolling the forums saying "XXX sucks, YYY carrier rocks! Sign up with YYY!" It's not informative or helpful, it just makes them look ignorant and the carrier they're hyping look bad.

Which is why I tell someone that is thinking about getting a cell phone that when they ask around about what other opinions are to grade this like an Olympic Skating event. Take the highest score and throw it out (no carrier is perfect). Take the lowest score and through it out (there is always someone that will say XXX carrier is horrible) and through it out. Average the rest. But remember, doesn't matter how good a cell phone carrier is in Texas if you plan on using it in California. Coverage WHERE YOU NEED IT trumps all.

The REAL adults have facts, specifics, and valid arguments. The sad thing about this forum recently is that there are the bullies that try and intimidate people away from the service because they >think< they can. Then you also have the desperate non-Cingular individuals that are doing everything in their power to lie and cheat people into believing things that are either not true or only half true maybe in a limited area. If we as a group made a point of either ignoring the negativity therefore allowing the thread to die, or reporting abuse, maybe we could get this back to where we could positively help each other again. 😲

Hey, don't forget the anti-TMobile pileons with their endless parrot squawk "no coverage, no coverage!" an assertion so patently untrue it's a wonder lightning doesn't strike them as they stand... 🙄

Problem is that nearly every cell phone forum is getting like this. I began coming to Phone Scoop and Howard out of curiosity, but stayed to learn about phones and services and how choose the best ones to meet my needs.
I don't want uniformity of thinking (after all I come from a Blue state), but I do want intelligent discussion and good information.
