Question for cingular reps.

I am a former att customer and just migrated at the end of August. I am still within my 30 day trial period and have been waiting for the nokia 6102 to come out. I will be out of town when my 30 days is up and with my luck, that is when cingular will finally release the 6102. Can I go to any cingular store in any state and trade in my phone? If so, is this common knowledge or am I going to have to go from store to store to find someone that knows what's up? If it matters I live in Michigan and I will be visiting my family in Massachussettes and Connecticut. 😕

Sorry, phone must be exchanged at the place of purchase. Cingular is very clear in their return policy and has few exceptions. Unless you bought it from a chain store, then it is up to their individual policy and if they have the same chain in Mass.

I bought the phone at the cingular store near my work and the store near my house will exchange it for me so I thought maybe I could do it anywhere...I don't know if they are chain stores or not. Define chain store for me. (remember, not all of us work for phone companies) 😉

Any Cingular store should exchange it. But you will need to bring the receipt because most likely they will not be able to look it up if you are out of market. I work for Cingular and I would do it if you had the receipt and the box, books, and charger! 😁

Have you ever read the Cingular Return Policy?

What you just said is totally misleading to this poor guy.

Call the place your purchased your phone. First ask them if they are a Dealership or a Corporate Store. Then ask them if they have locations in where you are that could process the return/exchange. If you must, ask them if this can be done via shipping.

100% certain that you won't be able to exchange it. Totally different market. If you go to a different market store, they won't even give you the time of day!

Rate of PENETRATION!!! 🤣

That is good that you help out our customers. I give you props. Most sales people out there I have found out that they won't help out if there is nothing in it for them since they are looking out only for their pocket.

If you purchased the phone at a company owned store you should be able to exchange it at any company owned store. Bring everything with you and there shouldn't be any problems.
