1 year contract up in Nov. on my 4th Motorola. 1st three were V400 with endless problems and finally I was given a new V551.
Now phone doesn't connect, drops calls and freezes.
Is this normal? Do I get another Motorola because I am fed up and need a reliable phone.
At this point thinking of switching carriers to Sprint/Nextel..
Any advice?

if you want a relaible moto, get the V3 or the ROKR. The 551 is a good phone if you get a good one. we have had less problems lately with it, but still have a few people with issues like blown speakers, low volume, other minor things.

TMobile has about five Moto models all of which do those kind of things if you don't powercycle them every day or so. If you never turn your phone off, this could be part of your issue. The rest of your issue, however, is that you bought a Moto in the first place--can't help you there, Sundance! 😛

Nokia, Sony Ericsson, LG. All of these have a great reputation and rarely do I get a call for tech support on these devices. Stay away from Motorola. They are so caught up in adding features to the phones, they seem to forget about quality. Samsung is a bad idea too. Talk time on these things averages 2.5 hours, meaning, you have to charge it all the time. NOKIA IS BEST.

Motos have a quality control. Someone else said that Nokias are the best, and I tend to agree. Some Nokias are damn near impossible to break. They will last forever. I recently gave my mom my old Nokia 6610 because her 5190 battery wasn't working anymore, and I told her that she wouldn't be able to find one, since that phone was so old. If you go wi...
