For plans that are $49.99 and higher you get free mobile to mobile.

Not to mention you can add m2m to any GSM plan for an additional monthly charrge - on region they are nationwide from within your regional calling area.

it will change on friday, but it's still only free on national plans. no one has pointed that out yet and that's only on the new plans. if he has an old 49.99 plan he likely doesn't have any m2m minutes.

Actually, cingular will be getting CDMA technology this year, They say they are getting it so their customer can have more of a phone selection. AT&T will getting CDMA tech as well, Cingular says they are not sure if they will start it before the buy out of AT&T or when the buy out is done and they have AT&T's CDMA tech on their network. So look for it soon. They said they are leaning more to getting their own CDMA Tech. FYI.

Hmm...I've checked with our Corporate M&P and they know nothing of switching to CDMA, we are just finishing our conversion to GSM, it would be like tossing the money away to then switch to CDMA.

It may happen but all my sources and superiors are saying no.

I believe what you might be referring to is not CDMA, but WCDMA, which is a GSM technology. ATTWS has an agreement with DoCoMo to launch at least 4 WCDMA markets by year's end. This is the GSM technology they are currently using in Asia for the most part, and is far superior to USA GSM. Cingular has been considering upgrading to it as well, though I have no concrete info as to when.

Now the WCDMA I know of, there has been a lot of talk about WCDMA around here lately. Very stable, reliable system and very good internet access speeds.

dont let the acronyms confuse you. WCDMA and CDMA are not the same. CDMA is old, WCDMA is the "3" in GSM's "3G", where as CDMA-2000 is the 3rd generation of CDMA. whoever came up with the similar acronyms should be shot 😈
