I am amazed to see sales and customer reps in a public forum whining about customers, those we are paid to serve. This makes even less sense than them complaining about a service or product they paid for.

We are the professionals. We are the ones paid to be there and to know what is going on. We are the ones paid to see that the communication is effective and that the customer understands what they bought. If they don't understand, it is possible that the someone didn't do that job.

Amen.

But it is hard to believe that you actually work in the industry since you just joined today simply to make this post and ridicule reps.

In the industry since 1997.

No ridicule intended. I have a great deal of respect for those who earn their living by serving others. I simply offered an attitude check.

Well I completely agree with your "attitude check."

Different iterations of this same thread seem to come up just about every week. Let's make this clear. Reps who vent in the forum, are NOT venting at their customers. Nor are they venting about any one particular customer who happens to be on this forum.

Bottom line is, any person actually dumb enough to read and take to heart everything they read in here, shouldn't be reading anything in here. For all anybody knows ILUVCINGULAR might actually be a verizon employee who is irked he lost a sale to us, or vice versa in the VZW forum, and they just came to start trouble by talking smack about employees or customers or policies, etc to try and get people fired up.

It's the internet people, c'mon get a little common sense, take everything y...

it's all well and fine that you want to "check" people but we all need to vent from time to time i know you have had the occasional "grimey" customer that you want to rip em a new one. so don't front....... i love helping customers that's why im in the business but some get under my skin.

Then you should be able to appreciate how frustrating the job can be sometimes. This is a public forum. Let those who need to vent do their venting.

Yes, I'm sure no customers ever would intentionally frequent a Cingular forum and that any who stumbled in by accident would clearly perceive how valued they were in spite of all the "venting."

And I'm sure no intelligent human being would see the venting reps are doing about some customers and think that it applies to them.

Give me a break with that valued BS. Customers join Cingular because they feel it is the best for them. When a customer comes in threatening to switch to another carrier, I lay out to them all the costs of switching vs. staying but I also tell them sometimes you just have to try both sides to see which is the best. Some customers may switch to and then stay with Verizon but some customers will not like having to pay for every little thing, not being able to use MP3's as ring tones, and having to sign a new contract just to change a plan.... all for service that is overhyped. They come back and become our...

I'd much rather have my Sales Associates vent in a public forum like this than vent on the sales floor, or even in the back room. The stories posted here, whether true or not, have a certain entertainment value to them. I find myself laughing practically every time I come to this forum. So thank you all who post to vent, and thank you all who post to criticize the venters, and thank you to all the trolls who start fights, and thank you for those who actually post helpful information. As far as I'm concerned, you all exist to entertain me. 🙂 Y'all have a great day phonescooping!
