Switching To Cingular

I currently have Verizon. Great everything. I am interesting it getting the Razr. It's suppose to come out in November for Verizon. But Cingular is also coming out with the Razr 2. Witch seems like the phone for me. My contract is up in Janurary. The only thing holding me back from Switching is the New Every 2 deal. Does any one thing Cingular will give that to me toward the purchase of a phone if not I guess it is another 2 years with Verizon. 🙄

the "new every two" is a marketing ploy. all it means is you are eligible for the same discount a new cusomter is entitled to when your contract is up. Cingular offers the same thing, but doen't have a silly name for it. if you want to be exact, depending on the maket, we give you $110 off the retail price of the phone PLUS any applicable rebates, so it's the same thing. and you are allowed to do it every 21 months, not the full 2 years.

Verizon allowed me to do it after 22 months. I turned the NE2 down. I waited two more months and bailed out "to a better place" lol

You are truly a moron. If you are going to lie about another company, at least sound a little more plausible. Yes "New Every 2" is a marketing tool (not a ploy). No, you do not get the same discount as a new customer BECAUSE (this is the important part/ploy) The NE2 gives you the discounted price PLUS an additional $100 credit off of the purchase of the phone. In case you are a little fuzzy at math: NEW CUSTOMER - 2 year price = $99.99 /// EXISTING CUSTOMER WITH NE2 - 2 year price $99.99 - $100 New Every 2 credit = FREE PHONE --- No wonder you are going to get spanked in net add for the upteenth quarter in a row... You have to rely on blatant lies about other companies to sell your service, because your network and customer service sure...

Oh, and by the way, as a followup to the second post. You also DO NOT have to wait the full 2 years EITHER. You are technically eligible after 22 months, but that can be moved up if the circumstance warrants. Boy, you guys really are clueless... C'mon! Competition is a good thing! You don't need to imagine that other companies have NOTHING better to offer than Cingular. That's just pretention! 🤣 🤣 🤣

Actually the" New Every Two" deal gives you an extra 100 dollars offf of the new customer price, I got an lg 8100 for 50 bucks plus the 50 dollar rebate, which is a hundred dollars cheaper than a brand new Verizon cumtomers price for the same phone.

The New Every Two program entitles you to $100 below the new 2 year promotional Pricing. Therefore, if a phone is $99.99 for a new customer on a 2 year plan, a renewing customer eligible for NE2 gets that phone for free.

Correction, New Every Two means you get a hundred dollars off the New 2y Activation price. Example: Motorola e815 $149.99 with a $50 dollar rebate on a two year agreement. New Every Two price: $149.99-$100=$50-$50 mail in rebate=FREE.

From a former Verizon customer: New every 2 is just marketing. Every provider will let you get a new subsidized phone after your prior contract is up. Cingular doesn't call it new every 2. They simply call it upgrading, but it works the same at Cingular as it does at Verizon.

I love cingular because heres something about cingular that is not advertised if u pay a certain amount a month consistantly and never late paying ur bill u may be eligible for a upgrade early. When i mean early i mean under 10 months or shorter. Heres an example I am on a family plan and pay more than 100 dollars a month and because of this i get to experience upgrades really early. If we add this with the phone selection Cingular has i will never leave. Ill admitt the only thing appealing about verizon is the Lg 9800 and Ev-do technology.

if your PRE-TAX charges per month are OVER $75 on one specific phone # and you have fulfilled 50% of your comittment, you would be entitled to a standard upgrade.

Hmm, my experience “upgrading” with Cingular did not work like that. Since I was an “existing” customer, I did not qualify for any of the special deals that new customers can get, and in fact was quoted a higher “upgrade” price on the phones. (The quotes on “existing” are due to the fact that I was a former AT&T customer who had never purchased a phone from Cingular before, and that my contract had expired 1½ years earlier.) Doesn’t make me feel like my continuing patronage is valued!
