Trying Sprint, but really wanting Cingular
I got to thinking though maybe it is my phone. Maybe that's just me not wanting to leave Cingular, because, for the past 5 years, they're been pretty good to me. Customer Service has told me it could be my phone that's a problem, but what about all the others with the same problem? ..... By the way, how does Cingular determine problems in areas? They should "hire" someone in each city or something where they can rely on them to give an accurate description of the service issues. There's been times where I can't even catch a Cingular tower, living less than 5 miles from one, and am told nothing's wrong in the area and they're not going to do anything but send an update which usually is just a temporary fix, if even at that.
Have you tried changing your SIM card? sometimes SIM cards go bad....
Hypothetically, the 2 existing towers can hold 40 calls each. they usually run with 30 calls, well under the limit. But when they're turned off, the new tower can still only take 40 calls, leaving 20 calls without a connection. Although later there will room for 120 calls, the testing requires this to see how the tower handles the load.
A way to sneak your call into the accepted ones is to turn the phone off and back on. this will recalibrate it on the network and the fresher calibrations go thru first.
