HSDPA Goes Live? Check this article out...

According to this news posting on Unstrung, it appears that the HSDPA high speed data network has gone live in select markets.

UMTS is already an option from our point of sale software, but I haven't screwed around with it as we have NO UMTS handsets. It's weird to look at...

Well I'm used to clicking on one button and seeing certain responses from that action. Now it's different.

Let's say someone has an old TDMA phone and wants to do an upgrade. I start the change of technology and where I'm used to seeing two choices (GAIT and GSM), I now also have UMTS. I confess, I did click the UMTS button to see if it still had a field for SIM and IMEI (it did), but it didn't tell me the appropriate size of entry for each field (I've heard a rumor that UMTS SIM numbers are longer). So... the change is odd, and even more odd because it's something I can't use.

I'm in the DFW area, by the way.
