HSDPA and SIM Cards

Will the launch of the UMTS/HSDPA network require a new SIM card (128k), or will the current 64k SIM's work in the new phones?

Also, out of curiosity, as the network approaches being "Gold" will people who have old Blue SIM cards find themselves without a signal, since those towers will be converted, or does a Gold tower mean that its SID carries both the Blue and Orange names?

Thanks
