JUST GOT THIS EMAIL CAN ANYONE CONFIRM?

On November 1, 2005, the activation fees for Family Talk will be changing for the primary line. We will charge the primary line an activation fee of $36 and each additional line will be charged the $18 rate.

Please spread the word to all of your employees. We do not want to give out the wrong information to our customers.

Please visit the CSP for more details

We got the email, but it doesn't apply to the Dallas or west texas markets. Looks like we get to keep the $18 activation on all familytalk lines.

I swear I hate Cingular more and more every day. They continue to slowly increase rates. If they want to do this they need to take away the family plans and just start doing the add-a-lines again. It gets confusing for customers to think that one line is 36 and another is 18. If they had regular rate plans then additional lines to add to those it would be easier for people to understand. You know what this reminds me of? ATTWS before they were dead ass broke. Despritely trying to get every dollar they possibly can. Maybe they should fire some of their pothetic RAE's that are soakin up around 40-60k apiece doing nothing. I think Cingular has a lot larger problems then to worry about increasing activation fee prices.

Confusing for customers or confusing to you?

Don't get many confused customers walking out of my store.

You say don't get drastic but that is exactly what you propose. Increasing activation fees to more closely match the industry will not make a major change unless YOU make it a major change to your customer.

Why don't Cingular FIRST closely match the industry on the more important metrics. Like Customer Service and network reliability. Then maybe they could command the same prices as those carriers who deserve to be paid for those metrics.

you have to FUND the network did u know that about 75% of activation fees go toward making a better network. now that's a textbook answer think about it. 😎

Well I'll let other suckers "fund" the network and limp over to a carrier with a great network already for the same price. It's all about bang for the buck. Cingular is not it. Obviously considering Cingulars downward trend in new activations I am not alone.

You have to be a suffering Cingular sales rep.
The anger and frustration is readily apparent in all of your posts.

I understand your income stream is slowing down. I understand you have no voice to make changes but still have to defend the indefensible. I understand you cannot leave your job or business.

Yes I can feel your pain and frustration. Take responsibility for your life and make some changes. Ulcers are on the way otherwise my friend.

So you must have all kinds of awards from Cingualr hanging on your wall,as you are certainly bucking the trend.

You made me laugh out loud.

BTW I don't believe you for a NY minute. You are frustrated and it shows. Way before I came around. I have read your rants and argument.

Ok, I have a REALLY big problem with a few of the characters who decide to post such rude pieces regarding Cingular employee commentary, specifically these posts against texaswireless. The entire point of our interaction is not to sit here and throw rude blows towards each other. Specifically regarding the rude commentary towards texaswireless, if he didn't post, we would probably miss a lot of great information that can help ourselves and customers navigate the Cingular spectrum. If you who have written such hateful commentaries towards Cingular employees spent your time doing more useful things or posting credible posts, you might have more time to be happier people than being so vengeful as you are now.

Why is there the impression that the network is so poor? Independant tests say it isn't so poor. That doesn't mean individual people don't have poor results at particular addresses. But as a whole, its not what it may seem to be for CSRs.

If you have any doubt, look at Telephia Q3 results. It paints a very interesting picture, particularly when comparing customers who intend to leave Cingular, T-Mobile, and Verizon in the next 12 months. You'd be surprised which carrier they want to leave for poor coverage and which carrier they want to leave because they aren't happy with the rate plan.

I think it's a bit less confusing anyway. Your first line will be the same across the board, so now we have to say "unless" and "or" one less time when discussing rate plans and activations. The less you have to say to explain things, the less confusing it is for customers.

Wow, that's ridiculous! 🤣 🤣

Sprint charges $36 for the first/primary line and for the second, third, fourth, fifth... NOTHING!

Really good to hear and helps me sell against the competition. 😉

Yeah, I just found that out. I was going to move to Sprint. Well, I kind of am. Cingular's not letting me out of my contract without paying an ETF. Normally, I would understand why, and I would also stick with Cingular, but the reception in my area has really been bad. A lot of people are cancelling, or trying to at least. They said it's because of the hurricanes, but they didn't come anywhere near here. They did drop my 3 lines from $150 to $50 each, but that's still quite a bit to pay for something that's Cingular's fault.

According to the email we received, Dallas and West Texas will be $36 act fee for the main lines on Family Talks and then $26 for the additional lines instead of $18.

Yay for being in Dallas and West Texas our customers have to pay more.

"The exception to this is the Dallas and West Texas markets will charge $36 for the primary line and $26 for each additional line."

Thats becasue Verizon is not a force in Texas. Cingular is not beyond taking advantage of a situation to the benefit of...their customers.
