Voluntary Suspend

Does anybody know if you can do a voluntary suspend with cingular? I know with Verizon you can do a voluntary suspend for up to 90 days twice in a 1 yr period and you have to pay $15.00 to do it and you dont have to pay for service for that time but your contract extends that many days. I am just curious to know if Cingular has the same type of thing cause i may be leaving the country for a few months and don't wanna take my phone so i would like to not have to pay for it for that time and don't mind extending my contract either. Thanks for your input.

$9.99 per month suspends up to 180 days. And yes it extends the contract the same amount of time the account/line of service is suspended. Happy travels.

Dang $9.99 per month that sucks but i guess obviously its better than the rate plan but still i was hoping it was a one time charge like verizon, oh well its better than no option i guess, thanks for the info.

I believe that only applies to BLUE accounts. If so please post such qualifications to help complete the answer.

Blue accounts no longer have the vacation/seasonal suspend.

OK.

Well, I know the option he mentioned is NOT one for Orange so that was my point.

Even worse is that he is complaining about being such a good rep yet doesn't know about cancelled or new policies. I don't know about stuff on occasion but I am also not out boasting about my experience and complaining about lack of pay.

Orange doesn't have that, at least not in the central region.

Blue consumers are not able to do a vacation/seasonal suspend. That came to an end on July 1st. It's in Primus.

I am cingular orange account, and i just wanna suspend and not pay for service while it is suspended, i called CS today but i dont think the girl knew what she was talking about cause she had me on hold like 3 times for 5 or more minutes each and finally found that you can suspend service but you still have to pay your full monthly service charges, which i dont think is right....does anyone know the correct answer?

That is right. You cannot suspend an account AND not have to continue to pay.

The other posters here were speaking of an old ATTWS policy that Cingular does not offer (unless you are in the Military with deployment orders).

Lies. Cingular offers reduced rate suspend.Type it in CSP as it has been in effect for three years now. It is 9.99 a month and allows you to suspend for up to 6 months and exten the contract by the same amount of time.

Its important to remember that the information you are observing in CSP is specific for your region. To the best of my knowledge, the above reference is not a national policy and may be a market specific initiative.

The terms of service provide that monthly recurring charges must be paid even during periods where service is suspended.

It is important for you to know that my CSP is National not market specific.

So the fact that you can't do this in the North Texas market means what? All of CSP is regional. When you login you are allowed access to certain items only, period.

The reduced Rate is not allowed in Telegence markets, but the suspension is. My apologies for the misunderstanding.
