My SE T226 broke recently. I'm thinking of filing a claim on it, but what would I get in return? Another T226, or something else? I wasn't too thrilled about this one, but I have been paying premiums for a while and would like to actually put it to good use.

call up cs and ask someone to transfer you to the warranty/ exchange program and ask them over ther phone what phone u would get in return.
...
Oh, I didn't think they'd tell me that information. I checked ebay, and the T226 is going, unlocked, for about $10. Not really worth the $50. Hopefully they're giving out something a little more in demand.

More than likely it will be the same phone, that is depending on how old the phone is or if it is even in stock -- if not they will send you a "like" phone (phone with same features). You're not guaranteed the same, but your also not guaranteed a different phone that you like either....basically you won't know what you're getting until you actually make the claim and have the package received at your door. However, if you do want to make a warranty exchange and you want to get away from paying a $50 deductible, just call 1-800-801-1101 from a phone other than your cell. That way you don't have to wait through customer service.

Why can't they tell me before shipping the phone? If they're going to send the same one, I'll just upgrade. If it's something else, I may just do that.
...
Because the reps have no clue as to what is going to be shipped. The insurance is through LockLine Insurance - not cingular..so they have no access to see what's available and what's not
...
That is completely false.
When contacting insurance you will be informed what type of phone you will receive if your phone is disontinued.
Call and ask.

That is not completely false. There have been numerous times where I've had to contact LockLine for a customer wondering why they received a different phone in the mail then they had originally purchased, and each LockLine rep has told me that very thing -- They have no way of knowing what will be shipped. They just make the claims. I even had a customer want me to stay on the line with him as he escalated the call to a manager at LockLine -- told him the same thing. Even I myself had to make a claim 2 weeks ago on a E317 that I had, and in return I received a C2000 (I hate LG) If they would have told me I was getting an LG I would have cancelled the claim and just purchased a new phone, but yet again, they had no way of telling me what...

uhhh, if i am not mistaken, they have a drop-down box on their system which allows them to choose from 1 of 5 phones to replace it with (called a replacement matrix). they have to go down the list in order. if one is no longer sold or out of stock, it goes to the next on the list. if they can't tell you which phone you will get, they should at least be able to tell you which 5 you could possibly get... 😉
...
Well I'm either a dumbass who doesn't know what he's doing or saying and just felt like arguing on here, or I just have gotten dumbass LockLine reps each time I have to call them. Either way I stand corrected 😁
...
Maybe it is this region. If a customer is getting a different unit they ALWAYS tell me what unit it will be.
...
hmmm I didn't know there were different regions for LockLine. I thought their customer service handled calls from all over the US? Anyway, if that's not the case then it could be from that region because I mean EVERY time I call them they give me the same answer literally.
...
my guess is you'd probobly get either a Nokia 6010 or a SE T290
...
Doesn't really matter cuz they'll send you a crap SE phone! They all suck!! Next to LG there are probably no other phones that suck more than SE's!!
...
I called. They said they could give me a SE T290 or a Nokia 6010. Oh well. I was going to sell it on ebay, but they're going for less than what I'd pay for the deductible. There went $4/month for the past 2 years.
