6682 was pulled for being incompatible for something that is not even out yet! (3G Sim cards)

hopefully it will only be a temporary pull.

that problem was resolved. it only was affected by the BRAND of the sim card (Gemplus vs. Axalto)

Yes it was the Gemplus that was the problem, correct? I have yet to see a 64k Axalto. All the ones I have seen are Gemplus. Where could I get a 64k Axalto?

It's printed on the sim card. I think Gemplus has more issues than Axalto. Others with more experience might can answer which is a better sim card more in depth than me.

the Axalto's come in the prepaid starter kits that the stores get. every once in a while i'll have to use one for someone whose phone keeps "eating" sim cards, and i just replace it with an axalto that i J-out.

I have over 1200 axalto sim cards...thats what we have been getting in for the past six to eight months. Originally they started shipping them out because of a similar problem with the Treo 650...powercycling...freezing. Much worse than having to re-copy your contacts or losing your call log everytime you turn the phone off....the word is that there will be a new version of the 6682 out sometime in december...possibly the 3G version? Who knows...
