Terrible Cingular Service

Well, we've been having problems here at least for the past three months. We can't make or receive calls most of the time, getting errors like Call Failed or Network Busy. I was told that this was caused by someone shooting at a tower in Kingsville, TX and water leaking in. About 10 minutes ago, a rep told me it was due to a microwave on the tower or something like that, from all the evacuees coming in. That's fine, but here's the problem.

The Tech dept. doesn't know how long it's going to be until this is fixed, and we're just supposed to sit and wait till then? This isn't just affecting a few people, it's affecting everyone in Alice, Kingsville, Premont, Falfurrias, Hebbronville, and San Diego, TX.

That, along with the fact that Cing...

I never even though of that. I'll give it a try tomorrow, the last day of my billing cycle. I was trying to get it taken care of before the next cycle started, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen. Oh well, it'll give me time to shop around for the three new phones. Sprint doesn't have that big of a selection, but for keeping them for 2 years, we'll have to get something satisfying.

By the way, what do you mean by the corporate office? How would I know where that is? Are they in specific markets, such as Corpus Christi, or is it something larger than that?

Yeah, I have a Motorola V400 and a V551. I had problems with the V400 when I first got it, did a XBM, and that fixed that. This is a widespread issue with everyone in the area. They said it's a microwave thing on one or some of their towers. I really haven't had a problem with Cingular and really hate to leave, but this is really a big problem to me, and everyone else in the area wanting to leave. I actually was planning on coming back, after the 2 years with the new thing, but, after the bad service they've given me, I'm reconsidering that.

On a good note, I just found the case # and called and asked about it. Talked to the guy, and he gave me a $100 credit on my account. That's kind of good, at least it brings down what I'm pay...
