new z520 dropping calls?

maverick22

Just got the z520 couple days ago from Best Buy. I like the phone, but I don't like the fact that it "dropped" 4 calls today. I don't know if you'd call it dropped because I had good signal. It just disconnected from the person I was talking to.

I am using my sim card from the z5200a which is 64K.

Any comments/suggestions?

Thank you.

That really doesn't surprise me. I have the Z500a and its the worst phone I've ever had for making calls and dropping calls. I have to redial my phone sometimes 3 or 4 times for it to finally connect and then it drops calls all the time as well. I am so fed up with this phone. It has a lot of nice features but what good does it do when the part you use to make calls doesn't work properly? It's not just my phone I've heard similar reports of other people who have the same exact problems, so it sounds like a software issue to me.

That's weird though. My z500was great in terms of keeping a signal. That thing never dropped calls. Maybe you got a bad one.

I don't know what the problem is with the newer z520. Maybe I got a bad one.

Well it's weird. When you look at the signal indicator it shows that it has 5 bars. Make a call, talk for a while, it drops the call. Take a look at the signal indicator and it still shows 5 bars. Not sure why it does that but it happens all the time. Very frustrating.

The Z500 was one of the better handsets for signal. Sounds like you have a bad one.

I agree. I use one and it's the best phone signal/call wise I've ever had.

In all honesty I think Nokias are boring.

Haha, good to hear. I think the longest you could play with a Nokia would be fifteen minutes max.

So how's the new LG on reception? Anything you've found you don't like about the phone? It looks like an awesome phone from what I've seen.
