per the warranty you get from the manufacturer, you cannot swap out your current device for a different one. You will be sent the exact same model if one is available and it will be refurbished. It is extremely rare that you will be sent somehting else besides the phone model that you currently have...and rare as in one time since I've been in the cell biz (since cingular came into being) an dthat was an extreme case where a phone had been replaced literary 8 times for the same issue.

Not quite true.
Quite a few people (even ones posting here) have received a different handset IF their defective unit is discontinued and none are available.
That is very likely since the P777 was not widely sold or distributed.

I called earlier and they told me i would get the razr v3 or the s710a since my phone has been discontinued for few months now. I guess i can try to get the w600 through warranty exchange if not ill just save up an buy it i thought i would just use the warranty program since im paying for warranty on my phone every month.

If they offered you a 710 you've got a chance at a w600, but they probably wont have them in stock for several more months. If you want one soon, I'd save up and buy it.

I would be willing to guess that until they ALSO run out of S710 handsets you would not get a W600.
They are required to offer a phone with comparible features and the S710 would fit that requirement. Since that phone was just discontinued today AND was widely sold they may not run out anytime soon.
You can always try but that is my guess to the answer.
