I was wondering.. it barely came out like a month ago and the price dropped so suddenly and drastically. it was 250 with a 2 year contract and now its only 150.

does anyone know why ? does this mean it didn't do so well and the w600i is going to be released soon cause i sure hope so :]

i know there was a whole speculation or rumor that there was a lot of money in the Rokr and that there wasn't suppossed to be any new music phones out.. but i hope this means the release of the w600i X]

The ROKR had a huge price drop today AND Cingular retroactively is refunding dealers the difference in price for any handsets purchased in the last 30 days.

The W600 was coming anyways but considering it was a higher priced handset. I don't think the price was dropped for that reason.

i dunno why the rokr is so low (but i can take my guesses at butt ugly and only 100 songs) but the w600i is coming to cingular. cingular will be the first usa carrier with a walkman phone. the s710a is now on its EOL and it was a fairly consistent seller. its replacement would obviously be the w600i. its only been sold straight from SE but expect that to change. for proof, here's a link to cingular's site where its shown:

When u say the same as the s710a do u mean the $200 dollar price it was before it was discontinued or the 450 dollar price it was when it first came out?

I must admit, I know this from my market Sony-Ericson guy. He called me asking if Cingular (hypothetically) picked up the phone, if i would actively sell it and recommend it. I answered "I sell a bunch of s710a's, and they have their problems. But if this one is better, has fewer probs, and looks cool, I'll sell more"
I then asked when I would be getting my shipment of the phones and how much on an activation. He laughed cuz he knew what i meant and said "soon enough, and in the same range.

Just means they will probably do a big push on the
Moto SLVR. It will have the ITunes software built into it.
