Two Year vs. None

I am told today the HP iPAQ (whenever it is really for sale despite what Cingular's web site says) is $150 over the listed price on the web site for a no-contract price, which is what I have always understood. But yet the MPx220 is $250 over the listed 2-year contract price for no-contract. It is even a junky unit, historically. Why is it so much more?

They might be trying to move more MPX-220 handsets and therefore are willing to sell them further below cost WITH ACTIVATION. W/O they are still sold above cost.

its not unusual to see such price differences. when a phone gets a little older, they discount will increase just to move the phone out so a new one can be launched. what you are seeing is normal in the wireless world.

Seems it should be discounted for us suckers willing to pay full price, too. But I digress, I am over it since I have discovered the new BlackBerry coming to Cingular.
