Want to move to Orange from Blue, but keep same phones

I am a former AT&T customer (Blue) with Cingular. My wife and I both have Mot V501's, but I am interested in getting the new iPaq 6510.

I went to a Cingular store today to find out what it would cost to switch plans, and it seemed reasonable enough, except the fact that the 'free' phones they will give in the transition aren't that nice.

I had a Moto Rzr unlocked. I had to send the phone with the charged battery to CA (I'm in CO), and I got the phone back 3 days later unlocked and ready to be used on my ATT plan. I hated the phone and gave it to my friend for his bday. There hasn't been any problems as of yet...and the procedure was done in April of '05............

I had an old AT&T Nokia 6200 unlocked to use it with a Cingular SIM card. I have had absolutely no problems at all. And I didn't even have to send my phone anywhere. A very nice user of this site helped me and all I had to give him was my IMEI number. His user name is JustinWilliams. You should try searching for his name and sending him a PM.

As Sean said Nokia can be done online but with MOTO you have to send it somewhere. If you are in a major city you also might be able to find a place locally.

OK, I don't understand. Why can nokia be done online, but Moto has to be sent out? Don't they all just require accurate IMEI numbers?

motos require the use of a smartclip to unlock if you don't have a code generator. i haven't seen many (if any) sites that give out a code, they all use a smartclip
