ROKR phone purchase
sorry to be a bother...but I was just at the Cingular store wanting to look at this ROKR phone en vivo. Stupid lady couldn't find a motorola charger for me to take a look at it. I said 'its ok, I bought one on the 'net so I don't have to sign a contract...::bye::'; almost certain she was PO'd. Anywho, there was this guy salesman and he was telling me about the updates that are sent through the carriers towers automatically. He mentioned that if I did purchase an unlocked version of a phone, the system would not recognize the IMEI and I therefore would not get any soft/firm-ware updates.
Is this true. Man, I am totally paranoid about this purchase now...

It's not outdated, but it is memorabilia. This is the first phone that ever had itunes support (I'm a Mac Addict), and we've been waiting on it for over two years. In another twenty years, I'll still have this phone sitting in it's bright orange box with all the accessories packed in tightly.
