I read a post about a Buzz or Noise being generated by the Motorola RAZR V3 phone.

I have the RAZR and experience the noise when it is placed near any audio amplifier including, speaker on desk phone at the office, answering machine, computer speakers, etc.

I did a bit of research and found that it is a GSM phenomenon, and is commonly accepted in Europe where GSM is wide spread. The root problem is poor phone design by the manufacturer. See this link for reference:

The cell phone manufacturers are aware of this issue. My guess is that Motorola placed the physical design of the RAZR ahead of the electrical design. I wrote Motorola about it, and received a "generic-canned" response. It seems...

If you're trying to tell me that you didn't have this problem with your previous GSM device then I won't be able to bring myself around to believing you...

This is a common problem with ALL GSM handsets. I have had Nokia, Sony Ericsson, and Motorola and I get it with all of them. Your choices are either get used to it, or go to CDMA.

It is very common in GSM handsets and has nothing to do with poor quality. It's due to the type of modulation in the frequency. And though not very common with cdma phones, it does happen from time to time. You are dealing with radio waves and any kind of radio wave can have that effect on speakers and audio equipment. Best bet would be to not put your phone on top of your stereo speakers anyway.

iv had many different phones and my moto does it the most. but my nokia 3300 did it a few times. as far as it being the build of the phones NO! its radio frequencies sent to your phone then amplified. it can mess with audio devices as with any amplified device.

i.e. hooking an amp up to your car speakers and the wires crossing and and when you drive your amp picks up wave sigs. and the amplifies them. giving u the sound: weeeeewwwwwtweeeeeeettttttttt 😎 🤣
