Firefly (the tween phone for 8-12 year olds) is available for purchase for Cingular dealers as of this morning.
CSP indicates the Launch Date of today (November 14, 2005).
We have had no clear communciation on the marketing plan, price points, etc.
While this phone is selling as a prepaid with some carriers, we were told that it would be a postpaid add on to a Family Plan with Cingular.
Does anyone know the particulars of selling the Firefly phones on Cingular plans.

Thanks for any information, in our market this might be a good seller for the Christmas season.

Do you guys contact your DM or have your store manager contact the DM or call someone in the HQ to complain about this?
Throwing stuff like this on a public site makes the company look worse than it is...
Not flaming at you, just an outside observer...

We have talked to our dealer rep and his rep and we get no timely communication. I don't see that pointing out problems is making the company look bad. It is showing that there are areas that need to be addressed and improved.
We are getting killed out here in the hinterland by the internet and direct mail and it would be nice to know that someone was on our side in keeping us informed so we can compete on an even playing field.

Yeah, but the real issue is that you are on a public forum...go into the Verizon forum and you don't see the same type of complaints.
Your issue is a valid one, but the perception is what I talking about.
There is a forum on the cingular site (I think it is under myaccounts) that many customers use to get issues resolved.
I am sure that you have a similar tool/forum that is available to you to get your issues resolved.

It's just like any other line of service with a contract. In the Dallas market it's going for $75 on a 2-yr with a $25 mail in rebate to make it $50.
