Hey Everyone,
Well I have a motorola v400 and its about ready to die out and luckily I'm elegible to upgrade this comming tuesday 😁, but right now it seems that cingular has NO good phones whatsoever. Anything new comming out soon? I'm looking for a megapixal camera phone w/video, removable memory card (not a must but would REALLY like it), music player is a nice addition but not required, 265k screen, it doesn't matter if its flip, bar, slide, swivel, and bluetooth is cool to. Any phones like this comming to Cingular in the next week to a month? Or is it better holding off til like Januray? Thanks!

If you can find a S710a go for it, otherwise you can wait (hopefully soon) for the W600.

Yeah I actually really like the S710a but it's been out for since last december so I figured it's probably outdated but the screen is so big and it does seem like a very good phone. I may just get it!! The W600 would be perfect if it had a removable memory ☚ī¸.. it to looks like a really good phone.

S710a is at phase out stage, which means it will be discontinued by Cingular soon. W600 will be replacing S710a. If you don't mind non-flip phone good one to go is Nokia 6682 as it has tons of features you'll like. You can, obivously, look up the specs of 6682 in phone scoop or Nokiausa.com As of right now most stores in NorthEast market don't have them in stock but they'll be getting them soon.

Find yourself an MPX220 on Ebay. Download and install the 1.43 FW and you will have a great phone with a great camera. SD card and total BT file transfers. For $200 it's a great PDA/Phone without the bulk. The upside is if you like it you can stay month to month with Cingular until they come out with a phone you really like maybe next Summer.

Nokia 6682, but would recommend getting it Nokia branded, not Cingular. If you get Cingular branded, get a 32k sim card and you will not have any of the issues others have had. I HAD a 64k, changed it to a 32k about a month ago, and have zero issues with my 6682. It is truly a great phone.

A friend of mine who works in Tennessee happened to have 4 in her store, so she sent me one. But I know of several people who have bought them off EBAY.

I have searched everywhere and couldn't find one. I didn't even think to look at ebay. Thanks.

It was doing what everyone else's was doing. Losing call logs and asking me to copy the sim contacts everytime I shut the phone off.

Mine automatically gets me onto Media net. I have not heard anyone say that yet. My coworker just told me yesterday that his is doing the same thing, except he found his downloading a ringtone. I don't think that it automatically started to download a ringtone, he must have accidentally been pressing buttons while it was on the net.

Never heard that one before. I guess I am just lucky mine was having those two minor issues. I do wish it had the pearl faceplate though like some have. Thought of buying additional faceplates, but decided not to put anymore money in this phone just yet. Gonna wait on either the N80 or E70. Hopefully one of those will be out next spring.

You guys are having problems because of the Cingular software. Like the 6230 handset Cingular tweaked the software to remove and limit certain features and options on the phone. By tweaking the software they inadvertently messed with the software's system files thus causing unstable performance. I have a couple of the Nokia branded 6682's and they work very well without any glitches. You may want to keep your eyes open for the re-release of the Cingular 6682. The phones were initially sent back to be reprogrammed for the 3G technology so it can support their 3G SIM cards and they plan on resolving the software issue at the same time.

I totall plan on getting either an unbranded one or one of the new releases. I love everything about this phone. Too many pros about it to be discouraged by this one flaw.

You are absolutely correct. I was unaware that Cingular disabled certain things on this phone though. Can you elaborate a little more on that?

Wow, I hope the person who originally started this thread who was asking for advice is able to sift through all the commotion within this thread and get some helpful answers.
