I see refurbs on cingular.com now for new customers. Is there a way for existing customers to buy these?

and if I'm not eligible for an upgrade? Is there a way to pay "full price"?

i.e. a lower price since it's a refurb but a higher price than a 2 year contract price?

In a word: NO. Called several times regarding the Treo 650 and the SMT 5600. Those phones along with the Blackberry are not available even at "Full Price" unless you are eligible to upgrade.
You will have to buy a new unit at regular retail price. Treo 650 = $624.99, BlackBerry 7290 = $374.99, Audiovox SMT 5600 = $374.99.
Only other choice is to take a chance on ebay...

You CAN buy them at full price, but not online. You'll have to go to a store. If you just want a refurb phone, you could just buy a Cingular Go Phone in one of those blister packs and stick your SIM card into it.

Now was there really a reason to jump all over tadams like that about credit? She is actually a VERY good agent for Cingular and she was simply asking if you sell your "go phones" without selling the "go phone" service with it.

Her question had nothing to do with crappy credit and in no way warranted you jumping all over her like that. Especially to tell her to "stop being an idiot and pay her bills!!!" Completely un-called for. Grow up. ...

Not to mention that nygiants needs to use spell-check before posting.

Oh and people please stop picking on tadams, she is a nice person, where are your manners?!

I am not picking on tadams. She is one of my favorite people on this site.

I'm glad to see that I am not the only one that notices nygiants can't spell. He tells me that he can't spell but he still knows more than I do about wireless. 🤣 🤣 Very amusing.

I sell them for the outright go phone price. Like if someone breaks their phone, doesn't have insurance, and doesn't want to pay full price for a new one, I can sell them a PIB phone for much cheaper. I don't sell it for the exact same price as a go phone activation (since we make money off the activation to cover the loss), but the markup from that to an outright go phone purchase is only $25.

I don't know about other market but in NE market they have what they call "BRE" center which carries "reconditioned" phones. Customers will have to go to Cingular Owned Retail Stores and have sales people call them for you as they'll have to call them up and BRE center will ship the phone out to the customer within few business days. Since they were used phones they are cheaper for people who's looking to purchase "reconditioned" phones without spending too much nor extending their contract. They have 3 pricing groups. $39.99, $69.99 and $119.99. They get different phones in stock on each they as they recondition phones each day. When sales person from store call BRE Center they can tell you what they in stock on that day. Sometimes y...
