GLAD TO BE A CINGULAR AGENT!

Ocellular

Nov 19, 2005, 9:09 PM
I know that in the past Cingular has had a bad rap. The truth of the matter is that they are a really good company with good plans and phones that have ten times the quality of other carriers. So Cingular, I applaud you for your dedication. One thing that needs to change though is phone pricing. The constant undercutting of the retail and agent stores by big retailers like Wal-Mart, Sams, and Best Buy is hurting all locations and is forcing us to seek other means of revenue. If this problem were fixed, Cingular would stay on top and Verizon wouldn't have a chance. Good luck Cingular, and I'm glad I'm employed by you! Please post your comments.

Thanks,
Eric from Arkansas

Don't call yourself an agent, I almost wrote a nasty reply. If your employed by Cingular then call yourself a Rep or RSC or something else besides an Agent! Agents give us a bad name, charging for everything and anything, bill payments, $35-50 for a sim card, $18.00 upgrade fees in addition to what comes on your bill etc. etc.

I agree that the whole situation with Wal-Mart, Best Buy and what not is complete horse dookie. Fortunately new policys are set to be in place forbidding retail outlets such as them from undercutting us on "cingular exclusive phones" such as the Black Razr, Rokr and w600i. In addition agents will be forced to display their own company logo prominently at their retail locations do help distinguish between REAL cin...

I do apologize, but I'm not directly employed by Cingular. I am an Agent, I work for an indirect store. Where did you learn that new policies are going into place that forbid giant retail from undercutting exclusive products and when will they go into place?
Thanks,
Eric

Agents will not be required to change branding unless they fail to meet the criteria set forth in the new contracts recently signed. Larger volume individual agent locations and larger premier agents will still brand "Cingular" as in the past.

Wow, not all agents are like that, we charge less for stuff then your corp. locals! If any one around our town has a bad rap it's your higher then all other, drinking coffie, metro sexual, pole smoking, idiots that are jerks to there own customers to the point that they come to me in the MALL of all places to help because they know ME by name and know I will get the job done! You sit there with your nice hourly pay and your sweet comm. and 10x's better training then us! and we have a better name then you! The funny thing is I have never even got a call back to work in a corp. local. So keep up the good work, all your doing is giveing me more sale's! Thanks

I admit I sterotype, seems the roles are reversed in our locations. I am happy to find out however that there ARE agents that can prove me wrong. Were not going to keep customers unless customer service is superb in all areas, be it resellers, company employees, telesales or 611.

Good for you. Personally I walked out of a Cingular store when I had an interview because I witnessed their reps giving very poor, and I mean VERY POOR customer service.

Wow!! the shoe is sure on the other foot here... an agent mad about being undercut on the price of the phones....

Usually it's the company stores complaining about the agents undercutting prices.

But forget all that, I agree walmart and bestbuy need to be stopped. They are undercutting everyone else and it's eventually going to hurt company store sales as well.

What COR stores have you visited? Because if your not willing to give an 8+ out of 10 likely to recommend rating then something needs to be done about them.

I do not recommend people buy at corporate store due to the prices. Everything is far more expensive there. From phones to accessories. i have been to a few but never bought from them. Like I said I have not seen the same rep twice there. Even in the Mall Kiosks there are new faces every couple weeks.

Buy at Wal Mart Best Buy or even Cingular online, You will get a much better deal on a new phone.

Come on man, Wal Mart has the Black Razr for $69!!! And Cingular CS will support you.
They don't care where you got the phone. Only...

A lot of people love that phone and referenced to a corporate store Its much cheaper for them to get it at Best Buy or Wal Mart.

Buy the phones on Ebay After your contractual commitment is up.

I bet your the kind of person that goes to a resturaunt and dosent tip because "its their job". People go into COR stores because they have someone to talk to face-to-face. And if your a repeat customer, the reps get to know you and build a rapport, and they will help you to the best of their capacity.

Your right customer service could care less where you bought the phone, as well as care less whether or not what their telling you is acutally going to fix your problem. They get paid based on call volume. The quicker they get you off the phone the better they get paid. I deal with dozens of customers on a daily basis that come into a store because Customer Service gave them the run around. If they had come in to my store in the first...

You can return a phone at Wal Mart. The "rapport" is not worth the added costs. Many people already have friends. there is NO advantage to buying at a corporate store for a premium price. "Rapport" is not an advantage.

This is not like tipping. You tip because it is an accepted form of payment in addition to the meal. You tip more for great service.

You buy products where you will get the best deal. Period. Not to build useless "rapport" with someone who most likely will not be there in six months.

If you are prudent with your money and don't throw it around there is no reason to pay the premium to build "rapport" with a total stranger who will pick your pockets to gain a commission check knowing fully well the same product can be...

How annnoying it is to walk a person through the sales process only to have them say "Thanks, Now I know everything I need to I am going to get the razr at Wal-mart." Are you kidding me? I think that this is another huge mistake on Cingular's end. You can't let Wal-mart have the cheapest price on your most popular phone right before Christmas. Cingular don't you like to make money??

Well where i work for example today I had a ladie come in and she was in a bad way, I just hooked up her used phone with a FREE sim and got her back on the road. You know we would love to do more CSR stuff but cingular does not give us a way to do it. POS.com is about useless we can not even unsuspend accounts any more to change out a sim # due to lost phone. I want to keep my customers in my store but with crap like that and not being able to take cash payments and crap like that, sucks. I have a good idea why that is, if you have cash you have to pay at a corp store and you have to talk to some one, and if they are a good sales person then they will try and sell you a vert or a c.L.a. or case or some thing. So to you cingular I say Th...
