Voice Mail Indicator Problem
My girlfriend is having a problem with the Voice Mail indicator icon not going away on her new SonyEricsson Z520a. It worked fine for about 2 weeks, but since last Thursday, it has not cleared away after listening to and deleting voice mail messages.
I am posting this here, because when we called Cingular for help on Friday, I was told that the problem is not specific to this phone, and that many others have reported this as well. The support rep was able to clear it manually, but then left a test message and the icon remained again. She did this 2 or 3 times actually.

I have NEVER had tech support tell me that they can't fix this problem. Im sorry to hear that. You may try another tech.

If you don't exit out of your voicemail properly, then it can cause your indicator to mess up. Alot of things can actually. It needs to be taken into a store and the rep needs to call Tech support and have it fixed. I have had this issue alot lately, and usually when we take the voicemail off the account and then re-add it and have the customer set it up again, its fixed. Hope that helps at all.

The last thing the tech person did on Friday night was to remove voice mail from that number and reactivate it. We set it back up again and still had the problem. We even swapped SIM cards from my phone into the other, and still had the problem.
However, this afternoon, after the phone with the problem had accumulated about 9 messages, all of which were then deleted and the call was ended (don't know if * was pressed at the end or not), my girlfriend reports that the indicator is now gone.
I'll post any more updates if anything changes. If it's "magically fixed", then I can live with that.
Thanks for your suggestions.
