Cingular HAS to change it's name......they have no choice.

Come on guys Cingular reputation is screwed up. they are losing customers 4-1 and the trend is DOWN. The public smells a rat and is reacting.

the bar was NOT raised except by other Carriers and Cingular tripped trying to get over it. They have no alternative but to cut and run. And hope a big do over will help turn the tide. The are hoping the public is stupid enough not to see Cingular hiding behind a now tarnished ATT moniker.

but they have no other choice. the name Cingular no longer represents quality, freshness, and bar raising. The customer base was bought and they are not growing it at nearly the pace as even T Mobile. They may even go negitive. They have to do something.

Sigman already put Verizon on a pedistal with regard t...

Dude, why are you so against cingular? Did they deny you an early upgrade, or were you an att customer that couldn't get his way?

Either way, you need to let it go and if your so gung-ho for verizon and tmobile, go join them.

No I was an ATT customer who erroneously thought Cingular would be better. I joined Cingular before the merger in eager anticipation. It has been down hill ever since.

I am getting a kick out of watching a big corporation make misstep after misstep, Its a good thing this is not a real war your leaders are waging. At least there's no death. Just a lot of pain.

BTW I have joined Verizon. They are no picnic as far as phone flexibility goes. But I don't need...

you haven't paid any attention to integration news.. dropped calls were expected while towers were being switched over. They were minimized of course, but when you change stuff, there is a curve that you learn in. Finally it has been addressed and dropped calls should no longer be dropping. In my area, dropped call complaints have gone down signifigantly, that says something since integration was completed in my market a couple wks ago.

they aren't changing their name. If you have access to csp(internal site) go to merger communications and it explains everything. Cingular's name is staying in the store, but att(sbc) is bundling it under attwireless's name for customers that get home, business, wireless, internet, etc...

Funny you should mention dropped calls. My friends recently started experiencing large numbers of dropped calls on their Cingular phones. Only just started within the last month or two. I wonder if there is more integration work going on in the Los Angeles Area to cause this. Their phones never used to get dropped calls before. 😕
