I have a a bad samsung p777 an want to use a warranty exchange and maybe get a rokr phone an use that till a better music phone comes out.

They will exchange your phone for another p777. They won't trade it for whatever phone you want. If by any chance they're out of the p777 they'll send you whatever phone they think it's comparable to that.
