i origanally posted this in the phones forum but got no replies:

what i am wanting to know is exact thoughts on what people who owned the 710 and now own the w600 think of the phones in comparison.

any opinions from users of both are greatly appreciated.

i know the phone is smaller and has no external memory now but has more memory than the highest memory card you can by for the 710.

i also hear the screen is smaller and lowered in color quality how do you guys feel about that and does it really affect the phone in comparison to the 710.

and would you say this is an upgrade or downgrade compared to the 710.

any other opinions are greatly appreciated

thanks

I can't answer your question fully because I have not used either phone for any long amount of time. I did notice that the color resolution was not even comparable to the s710. The screen was much smaller too. If you have no need for the more memory and need for the itunes, then I would stick with the S710. 🙂

I havent owned either but ive worked with and sold both now. Personally I like the look of the S710a better. The W600 reminds me of a kid phone. IM not a fan of the smaller screen and the orange plates look goofy. Even switching out the orange with the dark blue it still looks off. I know there are a couple things the W600 has that the S710a doesnt but I personally would rather have a S710a in my pocket if I had to make that decision.

I have worked with both and used both phones and i love the w600.

The screen is a bit smaller but i don't mind it.
The 256 MB size for memory is ok, i still haven't tapped in to the music downloading yet. I do wish it was expandable though. The Radio function is awesome and you can play the radio through the loud speakers. and it is a good change when you don't want to listen to your mp3's If you like gaming then the gaming mode is cool too. Also in camera mode it sets up like a Sony cybershot camera.

That is my opinion on the w600.

i have used both extensively and we will be publishing our review of the w600 soon. here's what it comes down to: if you have to have one or the other right now, you need to choose between music or camera.

although the w600 lacks a memory card, it has superior music software. 256 mb is plenty of memory for a day's worth of music, but certainly not enough for more than that.

the camera and camera experience of the w600 are not nearly as good as the s710a. it's not just the small screen, but the camera is actually a much lower quality unit. for instance it is awful at night time pictures.

if you can wait. wait for the W810i. it offers the best camera of any SE phone (from the k750/w800) plus the superior music and software experienc...
