roaming in CA
I have the 39.99 450 GSM, 5K nights and weekends/unlimited mobile to mobile plan.
I live in Houston and am traveling to San Francisco and points north at the end of the year and I don't quite understand what is covered as far as roaming. I am a little concerned because if I read the Cingular map correctly, I will be out of cell phone range for a few days. The specific places I'm going to travel are:
1) Napa valley to Mendocino
2) Mendocino south along the coast on Hwy 1.
3) Yosemite
Can anybody advise me what the deal is with roaming? If I'm not on Cingular's "network", will I have to pay a per minute fee?

If you are in one of Cingular "No Roaming" plans, you're fine. Otherwise, I suggest changing your plan to one of the current ones just to be safe.

All GSM 450 minute plans were n/c for roaming, so you'll be fine. if you get a signal, don't worry about using yout phone.

Are any of the GSM plans n/c for roaming? My fiance has the 900 regular, unlimited night and weekends but she refuses to sign a two year contract so they said no mobile to mobile minutes.
I looked at her plan and it did not have any rates listed for domestic roaming, so I'm assuming she's all set as well.

well if she has the plan im thinking off. the nation wide 900 min unlimited nights/weekends for 59.99 then she should have no problems with roaming. That plan also comes with free mobile to mobile in the package though so if she is on a month to month with that plan she should be fine anyways.
