Need help finding a Foundation Account Number

Hi, I'm hoping somebody will be able to help me. My employee discount had disappeared off my account and when I called to have it readded, I was informed I needed to provide them with the Foundation Account Number. I had not provided them with one initally. The lady I spoke with said that she could not disclose that number to me and that I would have to provide it.

I could not find this information anywhere on our Intranet at work. The closest I could find was a FAQ answer saying that I did not need to provide one and that the discount could just be added for me. This contradicts what I was told. Any help will be appreciated.

Go to www.cingular.com/discounts to qualify for and validate any corporate discounts.

Then your company's discount may have already expired or not be active.

You can print out this form and fax it in, but you'll still need you FAN. I'm actually doing nothing right now, so I can try and look it up for you if you tell me your business name.

The Intranet posting was dated September of this year. But in any case, the company is AT&T.

The good news is I've found a FAN for you, the bad news is I've found six.

I don't know which one is specifically for you as I don't know where your account is at, but I'll PM you the results with the likely ones listed first.

oh wow...

theres a reason we dont provide the fan numbers.

Fraudulent purposes.

Im not saying this question in specific is or can be fraudulent. just watch out.

Do you work for "former SBC"? when SBC bought AT&T they took on the AT&T name. SBC never used a FAN for their discounts. if you work for AT&T (i.e. former AT&T and not SBC) you need to contact your HR department to get the right FAN. A FAN can be one of two things. A sponsorship FAN or a CRU FAN. if you just gave her a CRU FAN then she will be able to activate a line and charge it to the company instead of herself. hopefully a rep will see this and do the right thing, if this is the case.

just be careful, there is a reason we dont give FANS out over the phone.

ralph, it was one of the first two.

I work for former SBC. I tried asking around (some HR people and coworkers) but noone ever had to provide the FAN, therefore noone knew it. The wrong corp discount was on my account and I needed the right one.
