Pricing Myths
Audiovox SMT5600 - $99 after $50 MIR
(Best Buy price, $179 after all rebates)
Samsung X497 - Buy one for $29.99 after $30 MIR, get one free after $30 MIR
(Best Buy - $79.99 after all rebates)
Best Buy has some great deals online at at their stores:
LG C1500 Free
Sony Ericsson Z520 Free
LG F9100 Free
LG CE500 $49.99
Oh wait, they are sold out of all those phones.
And they also have a great deal on the RAZR, $70. Also sold out (at least in my local store and at the closest two as well).
Funny, the free phones were advertised as well. I didn't push the issue with the local dude but in this state and most others that is bait and switch...

You're saying I shouldn't buy from a National Retailer and get the same phone for less money?
You are going to give me a great deal on 3 accessories and provide help with my billing/technical/troublehooting issues? Because you recieve daily training from Cingular and are not some moronic hourly employee.
You are saying that if I come and support the small buisness owner he or she will go out of there way for me and my needs. Becuase this is he or she's livelyhood.
Sounds too good to be true.....sign me up. Oh, wait I stand side-by-side with you on your point of view and buisness practices!!
Here, here!!

BTW How much will the customer have to make that check out for all that "neat stuff"? And how much of that might he get back in a couple months?
Like a true sales dweeb you leave out the "fine print" and ony expose the shiny side.
And as a typical sales dweeb you claim the competition has no phones. (which is not a surprise given how good Their deals were and are over yours as you seem to have plenty of phones available.......go figure. Im guessing your deal is not that sweet or you would be the one without phones to sell......and the line would be out your door instead of at the local Wal Mart.
See how it works when reality is entered into the pi...

have you actually bought one of those phones yourself? or are you just quoting prices you saw

Apparently you learned about commas but apostrophe's were not taught in your remedial education. 🤣
Wait time due to 1 rep working who was VERY slow at her job
Best Buy - Out of stock because they intentionally keep a low supply of highly discounted phones and other electronics.
Now, to rip you last statement because you are so often wrong.
Let's say you have an interest checking account. You make 2% on your money. Cingular offers $70 in rebates that takes 2 months. You would make 23 cents in interest during that 2 month period. In the meantime you would come out ahead by OVER $30 after rebates.
I don't know what kind of investment strategy you have fellow scoopers, but if you can make $70 (rebates at my store) by investing $40 (higher price at register at my store) in two month go for it.
I shot down your better price "theory" and now you are just being cheap.
You are worse than a politician.
We belong here. We are productive here. We are helpful here. You just keep making the same damn point over and over. It really is old, not like it matters.
Many of the agents I talk to, if I am talking to a cingular agent, pretty much walk away when they find I am already a cingular customer; I guess I'm not worth their time since I am "just" an upgrade.
Even at the local corp store (where I bought my original phones, BTW, due to getting a better deal due to my former employer...), most issues are referred to customer service or the warranty center, rather than simply dealt with. Granted I don't have a lot those issues, I prefer to deal with things myself anyway.
My experience is that most sales people are just that, and they are not prepared or equipped or willing ...

They will "get it" and will be more apt to bend over backwards to gain your current, and more importantly, future business and referrals.
My tech can repair almost anything while the customer waits. If he cant fix it I send it off at no expense to the customer and provide them with a Free loaner phone.
My customer svc girl handles all customer issues so the customer does not have to call the carrier and sit on hold for 20 minutes. Thats called giving back. It is not all about the price. If it was people would never eat burgers at Chili's for $6.50. They would only eat the .99c whopper at Burger King. Most people do not min...

I am a agent for several different carriers. I have a full time technician and a full time customer service manager with her own 800 number. Yes "Ten" I do charge a little more, but guess what tightwadd. I have a hell of a lot more to offer my customers.

The "quality" of service is the same at Best Buy, Wal Mart and Radio Shack. Pretty non existant cash and carry. The "quality" of service at Corporate stores and Agencies are NON consistant in every way except for their higher prices.
If one does not need hand holding and has owned a phone before one can save a lot checking those big box retailers first.
