When you IM on Yahoo Messenger or MSN messenger since you have to log in to MEdia Net is that considered text or all your instant messages data? thanks

You know! this is very tricky... I am pretty sure that it comes out of your MEdia Net package. But I have been told it comes out of text messages package (twice) in MEdia Net training. So I don't know for sure.
Could the trainers be wrong?
Am I wrong?
Why would they come out of your text message package? When you IM by being logged on to MEdia Net (which is pretty much like being connected to the internet on your PC)
and the kicker....
If they come out of your text message package.... how come you don't keep a copy of them under the "sent text messages" folder?

Anxiovert is right, it is tricky. This is my understanding. If you log in to the messenger via media net, you are using data for messages sent and received. If you have a phone with a built in IM client, you are using your text messages. If you have an IM feature within the menu on the phone, without having to open MEdia Net, it uses your text messages.

i'm using the SE Z500a and to get into AIM, you just go into the menu and click on AIM and it logs you in, and from expeierence it's obviously a text message. But i haven't tryed using Yahoo or MSN on MEdia Net.You guys say it's data, sounds logical to me. thanks

I just learnt this the hard way.
I just got a HUGE bill from Cingular. I thought that by using AIM, Yahoo IM and MSN IM on my cell phone I'd be using data. Well, I was not! 😡 😡 😡 All those IM sent were charged as Txt Mesgs. When I got my bill I was like 😲 I went over by 437 txt. ☚ī¸

ya well there's really no way for me to text on my phone. If i IMed i would go over 2,500 messages, in a month. But T-Mobile has unlimited text. But i wouldn't go with T-Mobile horrible coverage in MY area. And Verizon doesn't even have Unlimited text either which gets good coverage. And ya i figured that out by going on Yahoo Messenger sending a message, and it was charged as a text.
