Has anybody in the northeast had problems within the past 3 days receiving text messages?? I've call Cust. Care several times and been given the run around. They recreated my profile, and did numerous other changes to my account before suggesting I move from an old ATT plan to a new Cingular plan. Which I did..and you guessed; i still can't receive txts from outside the Cing network. The latest call to CC yielded an excuse that their data network is having problems..yadda yadda. Wondering if anybody else is having the same problem????

Haven't heard of that problem...though I think I remember some kind of outage from yesterday...if it's still not working today, call back...I'm assuming you can send messages but not receive? If customer care can't get it fixed on the next call, assuming you call from a seperate phone, and they don't offer to transfer you to tech support, request to be transferred to tech support. Worst case scenario, a case will be opened and it'll be fixed within five days.

I wouldn't go that far...but things like this happen all the time...no system is perfect no matter how many surveys are done...if any specific system was perfect, then there would be no customer service jobs for that company and that company would have a monopoly. As a technician, the majority of my calls are in regards to these problems.

I doubt porting to Verizon will fix his problem. Verizon does not have strong service in all areas. Cingular does have Verizon beat coverage wise in some markets.
