Anyone tried using a phone with 1900MHZ only with Cingular in Alabama? I dont mean that it just has 1900 but that it dont have 850
...

I answered the question he should have asked... 😉

It may work around the more populated areas & interstates, however nowhere near as well as one with 850 MHZ. The answer is it will work in some areas, though not all areas where a more capable device would thrive... 😁

thats a question you'll have to answer when you try it yourself. 😎 (not meaning that in a foul way). 😎

but after being told my area was ALL 850 except for the highways my girlfriend accidentially purscased a rokr unlocked euro version with bandwidths 900/1800/1900. we got it popped her sim in and i live in pa and have cingy and have traveled from upstate ny to south carolina so far and it has hosted better coverage than our v551's and (well not our sony ericssons 🤭 ). but hasn't missed a beat. i asked a cingy sales man after purchasing the phone on ebay where the 1900 bands are, he said, on i81 and i83 mainly highways. oh and florida and the carolinas. what a lie.

so the moral is: you can't get a clear answer from asking that...

o no i'm not. i' was just tellin the original poster of this thread about my experience. in noway was i mad or upset.
