Anybody know what cingular actually does to test their phones. I know the whole 400 hours per phone. Do they sit in a lab for 400 hours?? or ???

thats an exclusive measure.

i could only guess they put it to the fullest of durability test, software (most important) diagnostics and reception on each network within their network. userbility and look and styling. they also more than likely run it through a rigerous geekism test to assure themselves that phonegeeks like us aren't able to steal to much for free. 😳

disclaimer (read really fast) : this is only my fair guess. anything stated is not hard fact nor does sowhatsowhat10 have hard proof. any further questions of this nature should be asked to stan the man himself. thanks and have a nice day. 😁

the testers do a few things...
1. yes it is "lab" tested for software, durability, etc.
2. it is used by testers in the field all over the country to ensure compatibility with the network.

I'm thinking in the last few months phones have been rushed, or they don't have the "quality" testers they used to, because problems have slipped through the cracks with a few models.

Motorola has stated they were very unhappy with the performance of the v180 & v220. They say all phones launched from now on will perform on par with the razr (v190 being stated as an example, which is due out in the next month or so)
