Is there a way...?

Is there a way, through Cingular, to block the text messaging feature? I've recently been receiving unwanted text messages and seeing how the charges for those text messages are unavoidable, I would like to turn the text feature off.

Thanks in advance!

And how would I go about doing that? Through the store, over the phone, or online?

You can call cust service and have it removed RUFF. I could do it, but I'm off today 😁
Keep in mind that by doing this you will not be able to send or receive ANY text messages. Also, I heard somewhere that this is not recommended, because without this feature your phone won't get any updates from the network. ☚ī¸

I'm sorry! now that I think about it. It was the WIX (wireless internet) pay per use feature that was not to be removed due to updates.

Actually, they would remove the PPU feature and add the ADMIN Text Message Only feature. It block all outgoing and only allows incoming from Cingular, like you mentioned, to recieve proper OTA...
