GSM Nation Plan
In the Kansas City market they just extended the $9.99 Family Line until July 31.
Question: If I jump from GAIT to GSM Nation now, will all future additional GSM coverage be included as it comes on line under the same rate plan?
I remember under the old TDMA plans they were always tweaking the coverage areas, but you were locked into the plan coverage area you signed up for. If you got into an area that was not in your original plan you would get charged roaming. Happened to me a few times.

There is no roaming on the GSM nation plans, so that scenario couldn't happen. Yes, as the coverage gets better, your phone will work in more places. The only way you will roam on the new nation plans is if you leave the country.

This is exactly why I hate cingular. If anyone remembers their commercials from a few months ago, they talked about roaming here, but not there, and so on. Remember? It's funny that they are advertising against the very thing they used to do. It really is a shame that cingular is taking over AWS. If anyone cares anymore the AWS network is awesome now. Oh well, sure worked out well for the upper management of the two companies. cingular buys a struggling company right before the upgrades kick in, and gets it for a steal. Meanwhile the AWS management makes out pretty well. sorry for the rant, but I hate cingular mor...

Uh, willw, you DO realize that a good part of that so-called UPGRADE was roaming agreements with CINGULAR? all that great service you're getting now is not exclusively an equipment bonus...it's largely expanded spectrum and coverage due to having the ability to use towers from T-Mo and Cingular.
As for new equipment. ATTWS overlaid GSM over a good part of their TDMA network just as Cingular did. Cingular has put up a fair share more towers than ATTWS in the same time frame as they were doing the conversion.
Yes, Cingular used to have roaming. Most carriers STILL do. Take a moment to look at the concept of marketing. Let people know what you offer. Compare it to the competition. Let people decide if they want to buy it.

sounds like somebody got a late fee... 🤣 ... and yeah the OLD Cingular TDMA plans had roaming in diff parts of the country, but when the nationwide gsm rollout took place they removed any roaming charges for national plans. Most other companies dont offer that... just another Cingular Advantage 😉
