that Cingular have made some improvements in some key areas, but still have some way to go. I used to work for ATTWS/Cingular so I noticed the changes. First, the signal in the NY Tri-state area has made a tremendous turnaround since the merger. My friends and I finally agree its rare that we drop calls or receive signal strength below four bars. Secondly, the CS has improved because they have started to follow up on mistakes so I don't have to call. When I do call the issues do get resolved now. Although the data side is lagging behind some Verizon and Sprint as far as broadband, the revenue seems to be consistent and I think they should take their time get it right when its fully deployed. The ad campaign seems to be unmatched at the mome...

Cingular is doing a tremendous job in the Empire market. In fact, they are tied for first in network quality in that market.

If I'm not mistaken most of those complaints were the NY State area and L.I. I work mostly out of the 5 boros and northern jersey.

Learn something for once fool before you go popping off at the mouth. Cingular was removed from the New York Better Business Bureau because of a large number of complaints that were not handled in a timely manner. STOP TROLLING BDGP, everyone know what you are doing

Of course, now I can't find it, but the study's findings were reported by none other than Cingular, and not more than 3-4 months ago.

If it's really important to you, I'll try to dig it up.

I found it anyway... 😛

December, 2005

Cingular's New York-New Jersey network has tied for the top ranking among wireless carriers in its market in Telephia drive test results conducted in October and November.

Our network was dead even with Verizon in performance for overall reliability. Our accessibility and retainability metrics both exceeded 99 percent.

"After three years of trailing Verizon in this market, we are now challenging them," said Steve Breheny, Executive Director - Network Services, New York-New Jersey. "We have a solid plan, dedicated team and unwavering commitment to overtaking and staying ahead of the competition."

Telephia, an independent market research company that provides syndicated data on wireless us...

Thank you for contradicting yourself. Those results come from Telephia.
Telephia it is NOT and does NOT work with/for Cingular.

lol Never once did I contradict myself. I got the article FROM Cingular, as I stated in the above posting. I never once said that the study was internal - who in the hell would believe a company's internal studies anyway? Telephia is a well known entity in the wireless industry, and regarded as unbiased. If Cingular was proud enough to publish the findings, perhaps we should pay it some heed.
