Help from someone who works with Cingular..Please!!

😢 Ok so I got a phone from walmart the other day in Florida and love the phone hate that I cannor use my phone in Nevada. I am not in town right now and only have 3 days to cancel. But I am no where near where I got it and I won't be home for another week. I left right after I got it. See this is the thing that makes no sense they told me I had to bring it back to the Walmart I got it from. But the reason I got it at Walmart is because I wanted to be able to deal with someone all over the usa. I travel all the time for my new job and it is mandatory that I have the phone. What should I do. Is there any way to cancel with out bringing the phone back till next week? If not I will have to pay the fee to for activation. I don't know. I feel ...

Not much anyone can do. Now, if you bought it at a Cingular Corporate store than maybe you'd have recourse. You might've been able to get help all over the USA as thought with Wally-world...

😳 see i didnt because there are only 2 stores in my area and they are both 25 minutes from my house...so i should have gone out of my way and went to bfe to get them when walmart is not even 4 minutes from my house? and have you tried to find a corpate store before?they are few and far between 😳

👿 i think i am gonna go to verizon..they said they could port my number..it will be worth paying $200 to get away from this stupid stuff..they wont let me cancel...what else can I do? 👿

Port the number out from cingular to Verizon and the store wont know right away anyway. Ship the phone back to them and get proof of signature. Dod you try calling Wal-mart? If not dont give them your info and call them and tell them u want to cancel the service and you will send back the phone. Good Luck.

i have no problem with that.. i would be back on the 27th to give them the phone...but they are not answering...i think the front desk at the store has monkeys for employees because i get no where calling that store...i asked the one here and they said they would do it if it were them

They will refuse the package most likely. It doesn't matter if you get a signature confirmation. Wal-Mart can simply say "outside of the return policy".

I am curious as to what research you did that led you to believe that Wal-Mart would be able to do ANYTHING to help you?

All we see here each day is Wal-Mart has price but that is it. They (at least in my area) also have only a 15 day return policy, not 30 like all Cingular branded stores. I have NEVER seen a post saying how someone went to Wal-Mart and they were able to help them with bills, service issues, etc.

There is a Cingular corporate store in every Cingular market nationwide. Yes you may have to drive a few more minutes, but as is obvious now it is worth your time and money.

I JUST GOT VERIZON DOESN'T MATTER NOW🙂 AT LEAST THE PHONE WORKS🙂 I WILL JUST EAT THE LOSS..ONE OF MY CO WORKERS HAD SAME ISSUE I FOUND OUT. SO I WILL JUST PAY FOR MY MISTAKE. JUST SUCKS BECAUSE I HAVEN'T EVEN USED IT FOR EVEN TWENTY MINUTES. EXPENSIVE LESSON..CINGULAR WAS NICE ABOUT IT BUT I WILL NEVER BUY FROM WALMART AGAIN. THEY LIED TO ME. I EVEN ASKED ABOUT EXCHANGING OR RETURNING IT AT ANOTHER STORE AND WAS INFORMED THAT IS NOT SO. I BELIEVE THE NICE LADY AT THE STORE HERE THEN THE GETTO TRASH IN MIAMI. . THANKS FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS NEXT TIME I WILL CHECK THE VENDOR. AND NOT LISTEN TO MY BROTHER WHO USE TO WORK AT CINGULAR AND TOLD ME WALMART WAS OK TO GO TO. SOME TIMES THE BEST DEAL ISN'T THE BEST DEAL

Well put!! Another sucess story for Wal-Mart!!
I am saddened that you went to Verizon.

When you get your 1st Cingular bill, call CS and they should credit all of your activation and proration charges based on your situation. Good luck to you.
