It's the network - Nextel 18, how about some help
Can you compile all of the proposed network enhancements by carrier in terms of dollar value. I found this article from Cingular newsroom on 2-27-06 talking about Louisiana where it mentioned the national expectations.
"Nationwide, the company spent approximately $6.5 billion on the network and will spend nearly that in 2006, bringing its overall investment since the company's 2004 acquisition of AT&T Wireless to approximately $13 billion."
So what is Sprint/Nextel, Verizon, Alltel, etc spending this year? I'm surprised that with Cingular's upgrade to 3G in 100 markets, that it will be less spent on last year's enhancements and integrations.
Sprint= total is $6.3 billion for consolidated numbers, and the numbers arent breaken down, however, one can assume that the capex for wireless would be $5.3 billion. ($1B for both local and and long distance) (re-banding costs are going to be $1.4 billion. with the whole FCC consensus plan.)
Verizon= again this has to deal with a total number and it is $15.7 billion. based on just assuming i would say $5-6 billion.
Alltel= $1.2- $1.3 billion.
Tmobile USA= $2-3 billion (they havnt released their full figures. perhaps they will in a few days.)
Cingular= $7-7.5 billion

these guys are hiding a lot of their numbers now-a-days.. (if i find more exact figures i will let you know.. usua...
