Cingular launches mobile video service
"Cingular Wireless has added an on-demand video service to its offerings for subscribers to its 3G networks. Cingular Video claims video clip content from 18 different channels that include Cartoon Network, NBC, ESPN and Fox News for $19.99 per month. For an additional $4.99 subscribers can receive clips of The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Entourage. TBS is one of the big contributors of content for the service with Adult Swim, NASCAR.COM and Turner Classic Movies.
The service is available in Cingular's 16 metropolitan 3G markets and only runs on the newly released LG CU320 and Samsung SGH-ZX10 handsets, which run $99 after rebate and two-year service plan commitment. Since HBO costs about $16 in a regular cable s...

anyway, what is your opinion? (besides for "old news!")
such as do you think it will be successful? do you think data arpu will go up becuase of this? etc..

Of course it will bring up ARPU, but not right away. It has to catch up first.

If you look up "debate" in the dictionary, your picture will be there. You are constantly looking to start a debate of some sort, whether it be good or bad. Do you spend day and night searching for info, such as how many customers each carrier adds and loses per quarter, and anything else associated with the wireless industry?? Geesh...

i know a lot about this industry and i track what each carrier does on a q/q and y/y basis. it is fun but interesting to me.
whats the point of having a site like this if you cant talk about anything you want pertained with the wireless industry? last time i remembered this was a wireless forum. no?
