Is this normal

I would have 3 or 4 bars on my phone and still have voice distortion where i cant hear the caller is it my phone thats causing this to happen? (im using the w600i)

Could it be on the other end?
I didn't like the SE w600i because I thought it didn't have a good ear piece. I think the z520a sounds better (ear piece). Anyway, make sure that when you are experiencing this you have the antenna pointing up, and not down. When it's down, it's kinda like in your hand, and your hand might be blocking the RF.

Also, just because you have a strong signal from the tower, doesn't mean some other radio signal won't interfere with it. This is really common in the large metro areas where there is a lot of RF intermod.

i have the same problem, where i will have full bars and i can just make out what they are saying. And im using the SE Z500a, but ive used my friends Sprint phone and wow, it was loud and clear. Is it just Cingular with bad call quality or my phone?
