Sorry, never had Verizon but in my area they are pretty much the same, although the Bay area is one of cingy's strongest
3) What are some downsides to Cingular? My opinion---none. i hear horror stories of CS but i hear the same from every carrier. Plus I personaly love GSM
4) AM I GONNA REGRET CHANGING?!?! Theres only one way of knowing that regardless of what anybody tells you. Cigular also has 30 days for you to try it you can even try both phones. My on ...

I JUST WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT I HAVE SOLD CINGY, T-MOBILE, AND A UNAMED CDMA CARRIER (NOT vERIZON) AND I CAN TELL YOU IF YOU LEAVE A MAJOR CITY WITH GSM STAY ON A HIGHWAY BECAUSE IF NOT YOU LOOSE SIGNAL, AND ALSO CINGY IS SHUTTING DOWN ALL OF THEIR ANALOG TOWERS AND TDMA TOWERS SO DON'T EXPECT TO PICK UP A ANALOG SIGNAL VERY MUCH LONGER THAT IS IF YOU NEED IT LIKE WHEN YOU GET OFF OF THE HIGHWAY ANYWHERE BUT A CITY.
This is the perfect example of someone who doesn't know what he/she is talkin about.
More than 90% of our customer base is on the GSM network already. So, the fact that cingular is doing away with analog is irrelevant.
Also, there's no reason to type in CAPS. It is ru...

2. i wouldnt move, becuase of based on reception, but if you like data then cingular should be in your eye.
3. reception.
4. i dont think so. remmeber you have that 30 day trial. use it.
5. i like those phone ideas.
Yes. Once the merge closes (expected in 12 months) I'd be looking for the AT&T name's revival. My guess would be end of 2007.

I have had Verizon and the answer is absolutely not. I wouldn't go back for anything. I like what Cingular has to offer and in the Pittsburgh market Cingular is much better (although Verizon still is decent). Overall, I've never had any issues...signal, coverage, customer service, billing, etc.
3) What are some downsides to Cingular?
I personally don't mind this so m...

I would go to cingular if I were you. if you feel the need to leave verizon go to t-mobile, atleast when you have a problem they will care.

What's the matter didn't quite get the credit you wanted when you were with them? 😈

Every time I deal with customer service I have a wonderful time. If you are an a**hole to the rep they won't want to help you. That's just human nature. Be nice to your CSR even if you are really mad... yelling won't get you very far.
Oh you can be mad , but they better be mad at the right person. If you say go over on your minutes or incurred roaming fees, and wanted to be credited for them "just cuz" and get told no, then getting mad or not wo'nt help your cause.
If you are mad because of a billing error or not mad, the comapny will correct for any error that the company did, but not for a error made by the customer.
Plus all the Cingular fans on this site are ignorant...
But hey do what makes you happy. One person leaving verizon is nothing compared the amount of people who leave Cingular on a daily basis.

2) I never had mobile service before I had [the old] AT&T wireless, so I can't help you there.
3) Yes - It's a big, Evil Telecomm company that's owned by other Big, Evil Telecomm companies (unlike VZW, TM & Sprint which are owned by. . . um...), so they're in it to make money. AT&T hemmoraged profits (a key reason they were bought out) & Cingular has learned much from that. They're not very likely to give you lots of free goodies or what not. That's not to say there aren't compassionate, thinking humans that work for them (I like to think I am one), but keep in min...
