1) Is it true that Cingular is being rebranded as AT&T??
2) if you've had VZW and did was in the same shoes i am now in... do u regret your move? do you think you made a smart move? how does Cingular comare to vzw?
3) What are some downsides to Cingular?
4) AM I GONNA REGRET CHANGING?!?!
5) i am either going to the the orange walkman phone or the samsung 3g fone... any opinions?
I love in the San Francisco Bay Area (Walnut Creek/Concord/Pittsburg/Antioch area is where i am most of the time) any Areans with any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!

Sorry, never had Verizon but in my area they are pretty much the same, although the Bay area is one of cingy's strongest

I JUST WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT I HAVE SOLD CINGY, T-MOBILE, AND A UNAMED CDMA CARRIER (NOT vERIZON) AND I CAN TELL YOU IF YOU LEAVE A MAJOR CITY WITH GSM STAY ON A HIGHWAY BECAUSE IF NOT YOU LOOSE SIGNAL, AND ALSO CINGY IS SHUTTING DOWN ALL OF THEIR ANALOG TOWERS AND TDMA TOWERS SO DON'T EXPECT TO PICK UP A ANALOG SIGNAL VERY MUCH LONGER THAT IS IF YOU NEED IT LIKE WHEN YOU GET OFF OF THE HIGHWAY ANYWHERE BUT A CITY.

This is the perfect example of someone who doesn't know what he/she is talkin about.
More than 90% of our customer base is on the GSM network already. So, the fact that cingular is doing away with analog is irrelevant.

Yes. Once the merge closes (expected in 12 months) I'd be looking for the AT&T name's revival. My guess would be end of 2007.

I have had Verizon and the answer is absolutely not. I wouldn't go back for anything. I like what Cingular has to offer and in the Pittsburgh market Cingular is much better (although Verizon still is decent). Overall, I've never had any issues...signal, coverage, customer service, billing, etc.

Every time I deal with customer service I have a wonderful time. If you are an a**hole to the rep they won't want to help you. That's just human nature. Be nice to your CSR even if you are really mad... yelling won't get you very far.

Oh you can be mad , but they better be mad at the right person.If you say go over on your minutes or incurred roaming fees, and wanted to be credited for them "just cuz" and get told no, then getting mad or not wo'nt help your cause.
If you are mad because of a billing error or not mad, the comapny will correct for any error that the company did, but not for a error made by the customer.

One must take into consideration that if Cingular was such a bad company , Verizon would have finished them right after the acquisition of AT&T Wireless, it did'nt happen! Sure Verizon has made some pretty good gains but so has Cingular( which was also hampered by the purchase of AT&T Wireless as, far as intergration issues are concerned). I first would like to say that I believe that Verizon Wireless is a good company a little pricey but a good company just the same,but I also believe that if they become complacent and rest on there laurels,companies like Cingular, or Sprint/Nextel will only be to happy to make a grab for there customers. This industry is now reaching saturation point , the key to success for companies such as Verizon Wire...

AT&T hemmoraged profits (a key reason they were bought out) & Cingular has learned much from that. They're not very likely to give you lots of free goodies or what not.
