I am a Verizon guy and I know little/nothing about Cingy's phones so I need some advice please.

I have a friend who needs to buy 2 camera phones for Cingy GSM service and asked me to help find good ones on eBay. I dont have a clue what is good on Cingulars network and what phones are crap. She just needs 2 camera phones w/ speaker phone that are releatively cheap to purchase outright. Not really interested in Ericsson or Moto's but anything else is fine, can anybody help me with this?

Thanks in advance

Not interested in Sony or Moto? You are cutting yourself out of a lot of good options there...

I personally think the Motorola V600 is the best camera phone to get for the price on ebay (they are unlocked). It has bluetooth, speaker, and camera. It's been discontinued for a while, but hey, you said cheap.

If you really aren't down for Sony or Moto then try the Nokia 6102. Stay away from LG.

Personally motorola is great. The ROKR E1 or the SLVR is really good, heck the RAZR has been non selling since oct,2004 that should tell ya something.

Also SE W600i is really great, great camera quality and great reception.

If not those two brands then the Nokia 6061 pr 6102 or maybe Samsung D307 or 357 those are 2 good ones as well.

honestly, lg hasn't guite gotten the american gsm thing down yet. they make a pretty good product, just not a lot of quality assurance goes into it. the last thing they did was not allow the sim to override updates, software issue. no lg to launch (cannot speak of the new UMTS phone) has been very reliable. the first ptt phone performed better than the samsung, but i have gotten many back complaining of speaker volume, not the external for ptt, but normal conversation speaker. the new ptt looks promising, but i haven't...

I know they are great with VZW but I also know that certain phones work better with certain carriers.

It''s not so much the carrier but the technology, LG works great with CDMA And AMPS-analog technology, they(LG) have just not had a lot of success in GSM technology wise.

kinda like Panasonic, they were good in TDMA tech, but they kinda blew chunks when they went to GSM, they pulled out of it totally.

Samsung is awesome, although their phone selection right now for Cingy is kinda lacking.

LG has a good phone selection, but their phones don't tend to perform as well as Samsung's or other manufacturers.

I've found that really, LG phones perform the worst out of all manufacturers.
